Petr Anatolyevich Kuvshinov, a senior teacher at the Physical Culture and Sports Department of Baku Higher Oil School rescued two people drowning in the sea near the "Mayak" beach, in the Northern GRES region.
Despite the strong wind and fatigue, Petr Kuvshinov, with the help of his wife, was able to save the drowning mother and daughter.
Although three people needed help, it was impossible to save the head of the family, since the strong northern wind carried them far from the shore. Rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations brought to the shore the lifeless body of the father of the family.
Petr Kuvshinov is a master of sports in water polo and a veteran of the Karabakh war. He also participated in international sports events held in our country in recent years as an experienced coach.
Thus, at the first European Games, he received the certificate “Technically responsible person”, at the fourth Islamic Solidarity Games - the certificate “Coach of the national water polo team of Azerbaijan”.
Petr Kuvshinov voluntarily joined the ranks of the Azerbaijan National Army in 1992 and fought valiantly against the Armenian aggressors until 1996, when he was seriously wounded and demobilized from the army. He still carries the shell fragments of that war in his body.
Petr Kuvshinov, who was diagnosed with cancer two years ago, was able to overcome the disease at 63 after 12 courses of chemotherapy. For the first time after 2 years of rehabilitation, he went to rest on the beach and saved people's lives, despite the fact that he put himself in danger.
