Within the framework of the “Urban Expo” held as part of the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13), a presentation ceremony of A Dictionary for Cities was held at the Azerbaijan Pavilion.

During the presentation ceremony, Ramil Jahangirov, Head of the Project Management Department in Liberated Territories at the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, provided information about the book.

Ramil Jahangirov stated that the preparation of the dictionary is a valuable initiative: “For the past five years, and even longer, we have been actively cooperating with international partners. Not only us, but especially young architects, young urban planning specialists, and companies are also working closely with international partners. In such conditions, having a common professional language is extremely important. That is why we consider this dictionary a very useful and practical tool for architects, urban planners, and everyone interested in this field. This resource will help standardize terminology, ensure a better understanding of concepts, and master key notions related to modern trends.”

The department head added that the dictionary is also very useful for students and the academic community. The publication was prepared by the Substantive Content Section of the “WUF13 Azerbaijan Operating Company,” which operates within the framework of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum. It was evaluated from a scientific review and expert perspective by specialists from the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, as well as scholars from the Nasimi Institute of Linguistics of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.
