Silahli Kangarli village of Aghdam district is located in the north of the district center, on the left bank of the Khachin River, on the Karabakh plain.

The village was occupied by Armenian armed forces on June 26, 1993. During the occupation, Armenian vandals destroyed the village and turned it into ruins.

After the glorious Victory of Azerbaijani Army in the Second Karabakh War, Aghdam district was returned to Azerbaijan on November 20 under the trilateral statement signed by the President of Azerbaijan, the President of Russia and the Prime Minister of Armenia on November 10, 2020.
