“As a host country of WUF13, Azerbaijan attaches particular importance to sustainable urban development, environmental responsibility, and climate resilience,” Mukhtar Babayev, Representative of the President of Azerbaijan for Climate Issues, said in a video address to the participants of the session on "Developing Azerbaijan’s First National Sustainability Standard: The Sustainable Practices Standard (SPS)” organized as part of the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13).

“The organization of the forum itself has incorporated sustainability considerations, including “greener” event management approaches and internationally aligned sustainability standards. This work also aligns with broader national priorities pursued under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, including sustainable development, environmental protection, “green” growth, and the transition toward cleaner and more resilient economy,” Mukhtar Babayev added.
