President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva have viewed the restoration and conservation work carried out in a part of Icherisheher State Historical and Architectural Reserve.
The restoration and conservation work carried out in Icherisheher on the initiative of first lady Mehriban Aliyeva and with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation also covers the Gosha Gala gates. Icherisheher, included on the UNESCO World Heritage List, testifies to the ancient and rich history of the Azerbaijani people.
The President and the first lady were informed about the work done this year and the work to be done in Icherisheher State Historical and Architectural Reserve next year.
President Ilham Aliyev and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva were also informed about the “IstedArt” project, which has been implemented on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation since 2018.
President Ilham Aliyev and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva then viewed the 17th century underground bathhouse discovered during archaeological excavations near the gates of Gosha Gala in 2016.
President Ilham Aliyev and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva also examined the boiler building.
