Co-organized by the Center for Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center) and the Center for Governance and Culture in Europe (GCE-HSG), a two-day international conference themed ‘Security and Cooperation in the South Caucasus’ has kicked off in Baku, featuring four panel discussions.
The first panel will focus on the new regional order that has emerged following the liberation of Azerbaijan’s territories.
The second panel, titled “The Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Process and Economic Normalization,” will discuss the impact of cultural, academic, and civil society encounters on reconciliation and recovery.
The third panel will feature speakers elaborating on the correlation between the Middle Corridor and connectivity in the South Caucasus, the TRIPP initiative, the role of the United States in advancing the region’s connectivity architecture, and the prospects for an integrated South Caucasus connectivity system.
The fourth panel scheduled for September 9, will cover the evolving energy map and the geopolitics of connectivity. Germany’s role in the South Caucasus within the EU’s Global Gateway initiative will be one of the major topics of discussion.
The conference will conclude with a field study for participants to the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, where they will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the devastation caused by the Armenian occupation, as well as the reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts undertaken by the Azerbaijani Government.
