A conference was held in Baku on September 10 to mark the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA).

Speaking at the event, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov highlighted Azerbaijan’s transition from an aid recipient to a donor country, AIDA’s 15 years of activity, and the country’s growing contributions to international development cooperation.

The Foreign Minister emphasized that Azerbaijan’s international assistance policy will continue to prioritize the national priorities of partner countries, mutual benefit, experience-sharing, and sustainable results.

In their remarks, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ulvi Mehdiyev, and President of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) Abdullah Eren also highlighted Azerbaijan’s approach to international assistance, emphasizing respect for partner countries’ national priorities, mutual benefit, experience-sharing, and sustainable outcomes.

In his closing remarks, Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev highlighted AIDA’s contributions to international humanitarian assistance and development cooperation over the past 15 years.

The conference featured the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between AIDA and TİKA, as well as panel discussions.

The event also featured a certificate presentation ceremony for foreign students studying in Azerbaijan under the “Heydar Aliyev International Education Grant” program, recognizing their outstanding academic achievements.
